GREENVILLE, S.C. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer took its first defeat of the season on Saturday, losing 4-0 at NCCAA DI #9 Bob Jones University.
Gabreila Gonzalez opened the scoring for BJU in the 9th minute and Brinkley Adams doubled the lead six minutes later. Anna Grace Abrams made it 3-0 a few minutes later and Bob Jones carried that lead into halftime.
GLCC held the hosts out for the first 40 minutes of the second half, but BJU continued to apply the pressure and finally scored one more in the 89th to push the final margin to 4-0.
Bob Jones out-shot GLCC 32-2, putting 19 of their shots on frame. Katarzyna Polek made 14 saves for Great Lakes. Rebekah Shoop saved GLCC's only shot on target to preserve the clean sheet.
GLCC will continue their roadtrip on Monday, taking on Toccoa Falls in Georgia at 2:00 p.m.
