ST. LOUIS - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer held on for a 0-0 draw with the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Sunday afternoon.
UHSP dictated the majority of play in the first half, taking five shots to Great Lakes' two, but Katarzyna Polek made every save she needed to and kept things level through the first 45 minutes.
Chances evened out a bit in the second half, but GLCC still couldn't find the net, UHSP's Emily Sitkowski keeping her net clean as well, sending the match to extra time.
Malia Fry made the only save of the period in relief of Polek, her third of the game, but neither team could put together a winner and the game ended as it started, 0-0.
UHSP took 15 shots to GLCC's seven. All seven of UHSP's shots on target were saved, as were all four of Great Lakes' as both teams collected clean sheets. Elena Alvarado and Brooke Pagel played all 110 minutes for Great Lakes.
The team, still ranked #1 in NCCAA DII, now awaits the announcement of seedings for the Mideast Regional tournament, which will be held at Boyce College from November 4-6.
