OCONOMOWOC, Wisc. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer righted the ship on Saturday, pulling off a 2-1 extra time win on the road at Maranatha Baptist.
Great Lakes had plenty of opportunities throughout the game to score, but could not find the net and the game went to halftime scoreless.
Finally, Maranatha jumped out in front, Jillian Brown's 77th minute goal off a pass from Kseniya Hassenplug giving them the advantage late. Great Lakes had a response, though, as Brooke Pagel scored off a Solara Sheldon assist to level things in the 89th and send the game to extra time.
It didn't take long for GLCC to find its winner in the extra period, as Randi Fitzgerald scored less than four minutes into extra time to give Great Lakes a big road win.
Great Lakes took 15 shots to Maranatha's eight, putting 10 on frame to MBU's six. Katarzyna Polek and Rachel Weinclaw combined for five saves for GLCC, while Laura Brown made eight for Maranatha.
GLCC will take on Huntington on the road on Tuesday at 4:00.
