Women's Volleyball lose three on roadtrip to Upper Peninsula

HANCOCK, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College traveled to the far north for a three-game series this weekend, but came away empty in matches with Mount Mary and host Finlandia.

GLCC opened the weekend with a Friday game against Mount Mary, which their opponents dominated in set one, 25-4. Great Lakes recoved to compete in sets two and three, but lost them both, 25-16 and 25-19, to lose in a sweep. Laura Ganong led GLCC with six points. Mount Mary registered a kill percentage of .294 and were led by Brianna Ecker's 15 points and Emma White's 24 assists.

Great Lakes then faced Finlandia twice, once on Friday night and once on Saturday, with similar results. The hosts rolled in game one, 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-9) and swept their rubber match the next day as well (25-12, 25-17, 25-15). Stella Dunham led GLCC with 12 points over the two games, but the offense ended each game with a negative kill percentage (-.117 and -.037). Joslynn Perala led Finlandia with 13 points in game one while Emily Wilson did the honors in game two with 13.5.

The team will return home for a doubleheader at the Doty Center on Thursday with Moody and Concordia.
