Women's Basketball Fall In Close Contest To Champion Christian
Women's Basketball battled in a tight contest but fell to Champion Christian College, 64–60, on January 3 at the Doty Center. The Crusaders held slim leads early, ending the first quarter ahead 12–11 and matching Champion point-for-point through halftime in an evenly played first half. MaKensie Mondy led all scorers for GLCC with 21 points, while Dalys McGuinnis added 13 points and three blocks to anchor the defense. MyKenzie Kent controlled the glass with 12 rebounds as Great Lakes Christian finished with a 51–38 rebounding advantage. Champion Christian pulled ahead late behind a strong fourth-quarter push, outscoring GLCC 23–17 in the final period. Despite the result, the Crusaders showed toughness and teamwork against a strong opponent as they continue the second half of the season.
