HARRODSBURG, Ky. - Great Lakes Christian College Men's Soccer team saw their run for a region title end Friday afternoon to the #1 seed and #5 team in the country in Grace Christian. The Crusaders advanced to the semifinals after a dominant 3-1 win over Alice Lloyd in the quarterfinals. The Crusaders had 34 shots compared to ALC 12 shots on the game. Friday was a rematch against Grace Christian where the Crusaders got the best of Grace the first time around coming back from a two goal deficit to win 3-2 to shock the Tigers and push the MSOC team onto the national scene. The Tigers came in focused with a spot in the championship game on the line. At the half both teams created chances but the score remained tied 0-0.
In the second half the Tigers jumped on the Crusaders early scoring the first goal eight minutes into the half then two minutes later earning a PK to go up 2-0. That proved to be all the Tigers would need for victory as they defeated the Crusaders 2-0. MSOC would finish their season 8-8, while pushing NCCAA top 10 for much of the season. The future is bright for the Crusader Men's Soccer Program.
