Men's Basketball Battle To Close Loss Versus Wilberforce
Men's Basketball dropped a hard-fought 88–82 decision to Wilberforce on Saturday afternoon at Gaston F. Lewis Arena. The Crusaders trailed 48–34 at halftime but responded with a 48-point second half to make it a tight contest down the stretch. Shawn Goodman led the way with 23 points, drilling seven three-pointers, while LaTa’Vius Vlaughter added 17 points and six rebounds on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting performance. Teon Armstrong chipped in 16 points and four assists as GLCC shot an impressive 49.1 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc. Despite winning the rebounding battle 43–26, the Crusaders were hurt by 19 turnovers and Wilberforce’s ability to convert 21 free throws. Men's Basketball will look to clean up late-game possessions as they push towards the end of the regular season.
