JOPLIN, Mo.- Kylan Shipp continued to collect postseason recognition after a very strong campaign for the Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders. He was named 1st Team All Region and the Mideast Region Player of the Year for his special regular season. The awards at the regional level made him eligible for the national awards, and the NCCAA Coaches committee voted Kylan Shipp a unanimous 1st Team All American.
Shipp is the 9th MBB All American under Coach Richard Westerlund, GLCC has the most All Americans across the country in Men's Basketball in the last five years. Kylan Shipp finishes his GLCC career at the top of many statistical categories and one of the best to ever put on the Great Lakes jersey.
Coach Richard Westerlund had this to say about Shipp's recognition, "I am so proud of Kylan getting rewarded for his effort and work. He is an incredibly special player, and easily one of the most talented kids I have ever coached. He has this Steph Curry effect on the floor where you must always account for him, and he commands so much attention, because of that he makes everyone around him better. I am going to miss coaching him, but incredibly proud of him and growth he's had over the last two years. I believe he is the best player in the country. I am excited to see what's next for him as he pursues his professional basketball career."
