Men's Basketball draws #1 seed at NCCAA DII nationals
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The National Christian College Athletic Association announced the field for the Division II men's basketball national championship tournament on Sunday, granting Great Lakes Christian College the top overall seed in the field. They will face eight-seed Emmaus Bible College in the quarterfinal on Thursday, March 10.
The tournament will take place in Joplin, Missouri between eight teams, including five regional champions and three at-large teams. Great Lakes, having lost to Grace Christian University in their regional semifinal, received an at-large bid but will still have the top seed in the tournament based on their number-one ranking in national polls.
If Great Lakes wins, they will face the winner of the #4 vs. #5 quarterfinal on in the semifinals on Friday, March 11. The tournament championship will take place on Saturday, March 12.
GLCC and Emmaus met back on October 30 at the William Westerlund Memorial Classic at the Doty Center. Great Lakes won 103-55. Emmaus made the national tournament by virtue of defeating Maranatha Baptist College in their regional championship last week.
