Men's Basketball survives fight with addled Andrews
LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College men's basketball extended its winning streak to ten games with an 81-59 win over Andrews on Thursday.
GLCC's offense struggled in the first half, hitting only four of nineteen three (21.1%). The teams traded the lead, neither one leading by more than six before ending the half tied at 33.
After starting the game with only seven players, Andrews lost two more to injury, leaving them with only five players available for the second half. Despite this, Andrews hung in tough, keeping the deficit within six and coming back to tie the game at 52 with 9:33 left.
Three consecutive three-pointers for Great Lakes brought the sputtering offense to life and they went on a 29-7 run down the stretch to put the game away.
Isiah Reed led all scorers with 21 points off 7/9 shooting from beyond the arc. TQ Belcher scored 15 and Trent Temple scored 13 while leading the team in rebounds with seven.
Mylon Weathers led Andrews with 18 points and Andrew Crayton picked up a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
GLCC will face Bryn Athyn on the road on Saturday.
