Men's Basketball beats #9 Harrodsburg in OT in top ten clash
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Great Lakes Christian College men's basketball remained undefeated in regional play with an overtime win over NCCAA DII #9 Campbellsville-Harrodsburg, 83-85 on Thursday at the Robert E. Picirilli Classic at Boyce College.
CUH took a 35-28 lead to halftime, but Great Lakes' offense came to life in the second, closing the gap and moving the game to overtime. GLCC outscored CUH 14-12 in the extra five minutes, holding on for a tough win to stay perfect in regional play.
Kylan Shipp led Great Lakes with 19 points, one of five double-digit scorers for GLCC in the contest. Isiah Reed scored 17 and Trent Temple had 15. TQ Belcher led the way on the glass with nine rebounds to go with his 12 points. The game featured one of GLCC's lowest offensive outputs, as they only shot 30/69 (43.5%) from the floor and 7/29 (24.1%) from three.
Antoine Darby led all scorers with 28 for Boyce as Kereion Douglas (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Chris Rawlins (16 points, 10 rebounds) both picked up double-doubles.
Great Lakes will face host Welch College in day two of the Classic on Friday.
